While trauma is (of course) not a requirement for asexuality, some asexual people are traumatized and unsurprisingly might find it difficult to untangle their asexuality and trauma into two, neat piles. For example, it is emphasized over and over again that asexual people do not have trauma! It is insulting to suggest that they might have trauma! The level of indignation felt unnecessary. I learnt a lot and it covered a few questions I had about Asexuality. ![]() ![]() It would be a great guide for teens in schools and a fantastic resource for parents or friends of Asexual people. It's no surprise, however, that a book that short lacks a lot of nuance. A very informative comic that covers a lot of great topics surrounding Asexuality. ![]() It is funny, succinct, and quippy (I'm dying at the term Jane Bennet-ing). A Quick and Easy Guide to Asexuality is the book I'd recommend if you said "Quick! I want a Wikipedia-style description of asexuality, but vetted by ace people and with some sweet illustrations." More for the allo-ally with a short attention span than for those questioning their identity, A Quick and Easy Guide covers a lot of basics in a very short amount of space (less than 70 pages graphic novel style). ![]()
